DIY Sexy Summer Skin
DIY Sexy Summer Skin, right out of your fridge!
Summer weather can really take a toll on your skin. Between the hot temperatures, chlorine and daily stresses, your complexion can redden, become cracked and dry and breakout from excess oil. Luckily some of the best tools to combat this and achieve beautiful summer skin are already in your fridge. Here are a few of our favorite DIY recipes and tips to get a beautiful, healthy glow for next to nothing!
Brighten your complexion ~ Cut a strawberry in half, poke holes in the flesh to awaken the juices, then swipe it across your face in small circular motions . Leave this on for three minutes and then rinse off. Over time this will brighten your skin tone and dark spots with the added benefit of antioxidant, which are key in the summer. *Optional; To boost the potency you can follow up by layering a bioelements brightening serum under your favorite moisturizer.
Refresh & hydrate ~ Create a facial mist that will hydrate your skin and improve the absorption of the products your already using . Steep a green tea bag in a cup of distilled, boiling water for 15 minutes. Remove the bag and let the tea cool to room temperature. Once cooled, add a few drops of vitamin E oil or the contents of a broken capsule, poor mixture into an empty spritz bottle and store in the fridge. One spritz will refresh and cool you down instantly!
Smooth skin ~ Make a scrub using sea salt and olive oil for smooth and sexy legs. Customize the mixture to make it as gritty as you like it. You can also use this for exfoliating areas after waxing to prevent ingrown hairs. For best results, make sure you wait 24 hours after waxing and repeat every other day.
Sooth sunburn ~ A very common misconception about soothing sunburn is applying tons of lotions to moisten the skin. This actually traps the heat and keeps the skin red even longer. Instead, apply cold yogurt to remove the heat, let it dry for about 15 minutes and remove it. You can repeat this every hour as needed.
UV-free glow ~ You can create a safe, easy to apply bronzer by mixing coco powder into your favorite body lotion. Mix the two until you achieve the right shade in a bowl and apply to your body using a pair of medical gloves or a body brush. The mixture will look much darker in the bowl than on your skin. For me, this works similarly to Jergens Natural Glow and is perfect when I feel I need color in a pinch.
I hope you all enjoy!
